Denver, CO- The Colorado Democratic Party announced today that Sherry Jackson will be the new Executive Director.

You may be familiar with Sherry Jackson because of her activism in Colorado politics. Sherry Jackson served as the Clerk and Recorder of Denver between September 1997 and May 2002. She also served as Special Projects Director under Mayor John Hickenlooper.

Sherry Jackson worked for the Salazar for Colorado campaign during 2004. Ms. Jackson served as Administrative Director and she was responsible for establishing the operating policies and procedures for thecampaign office.

We were very fortunate to have so many qualified applicants for this position,said Pat Waak, Chair of the Colorado Democratic Party. It was very clear to me that Sherry Jackson is right for this job. Ms. Jackson brings experience, dedication and strong leadership to the Colorado Democratic Party.

Ms. Jackson will take over the Executive Director duties on May 9, 2005. She will begin working immediately with the staff, officers and volunteers of the Colorado Democratic Party to build upon the positive Democratic momentum in the state.
