Denver, Colorado - Tonight the vacancy committee selected Pat Steadman to replace Senator Jennifer Veiga as the Colorado State Senator for SD 31.

"The exciting part of being a Democrat in Colorado is to look at the deep bench of candidates and potential candidates we have helped to create over the past six years," said Pat Waak, Chair of the Colorado Democratic Party.

"10 people with a deep commitment to serve the voters of Senate District 31 stepped up to be considered. They are all winners.

"We will miss Senator Veiga, who was a strong voice for many who do not have a voice in her district. But I believe that Pat Steadman will work hard to serve those same voters."
