After reports that Rep. Mike Coffman received a fresh round of fundraising support from Republican House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy, Congressman Coffman continues to show stronger ties to his Congressional leadership than the constituents he is supposed to represent. From his work to end Medicare as we know it to protecting special tax breaks for big oil companies, Rep. Coffman is far more comfortable with the priorities of Republican insiders in Washington. Mainstream Coloradans, however, are stuck with a Congressman who rejects their priorities and is fighting against their interests.

“Rep. Coffman’s priorities have never been those of mainstream Coloradans,” said Colorado Democratic Party Chairman Rick Palacio. “He would rather spend his time trading support of the Tea Party’s agenda for D.C.-sponsored campaign cash. Fortunately, voters have a say in stopping this misrepresentation this fall, and Mike Coffman will have to explain why he’d rather play the Washington insider game than work to make Colorado and the country as strong as possible.”
