Victor’s Marx-isms Day 7: “You got people practicing openly occultic activities in this state.”
DENVER – Following the launch of “Con or Marx-ism?” last week, the Colorado Democratic Party is continuing to spotlight Republican nominee Victor Marx’s top Marx-isms to remind Colorado voters just how extreme and unfit he is to lead Colorado.
Victor’s Marx-isms Day 7: “You got people practicing openly occultic activities in this state.”
Marx has regularly tried to characterize his failing campaign as a religious struggle and made clear he intends to force a far-right religious agenda on Coloradans. In a campaign speech to a small room of voters in August, Marx again used his religious background to double-down against reproductive freedoms:
“And the biggest thing we have for us is people praying because this state is under such a spiritual warfare, it's unbelievable. You got people practicing openly occultic activities. This state, they kill babies. Wholesale slaughter….Our state needs to repent. Amen.”
Marx has publicly opposed abortion rights for decades, and previously worked at Focus on the Family – an anti-choice hate group. He supported his running mate in an interview when he pledged to rescind Colorado’s constitutional abortion protections, which passed overwhelmingly by voters just two years ago. Marx immediately reiterated he’s “for life,” without exceptions.
