Wave of Republicans Abandoning Marx in Final Days

Evans, Boebert, Hurd, Crank Still Clinging On

DENVER – Today former congressman Ken Buck joined fifteen other Republicans in supporting Democratic gubernatorial nominee Phil Weiser, as all unparalleled waves of Republicans are abandoning their nominee Victor Marx in the final days before Election Day.

Buck, who is also a former GOP party chair, told Colorado Politics that Marx was “thoroughly unqualified for this position” of governor, adding that he wasn’t sure how Marx would even accomplish the basics. The GOP’s party secretary also withdrew support for Marx and resigned his position on Monday, saying he could not stand by the party’s nominee after revelations that Marx had admitted to multiple violent incidents in the home: “I feel it was the right thing to do, and staying true to myself and my integrity is more important.”

Marx’s extremist, scandal-plagued and outright bizarre antics also drove away his primary opponents; they called him “corrupt,” “unfit,” and a “con man,” and refused to support him even before the primary was over.

The other Republicans running alongside Marx have had no such crisis of confidence in their toxic nominee. Every congressional Republican, Lauren Boebert, Gabe Evans, Jeff Hurd and Jeff Crank, are all still clinging on to Marx’s ticket, as is every statewide candidate.

“The Republican Party was in absolute shambles before the worst gubernatorial nominee in their history came along. Now that the Marx train has fully left the tracks and is heading for a cliff, there’s no telling how far they’re going to fall,” said spokesperson Kailee Stiles.
