Become A Precinct Organizer
Precinct Organizers (POs) are the ambassadors of the Democratic Party in their neighborhoods who organize events, register voters, encourage people to vote and represent our Party in every nook and cranny across the state. A PO is elected at caucus for a two-year term, and each precinct has two PO slots.
POs get to vote on county Party business, elect its leadership, and also serve on vacancy committees to select new representatives when an elected official leaves office early.
Here’s how to get started
Step 1: Attend your County Caucus
Precinct organizers are elected at caucus. You must attend caucus to run. Find out when and where your county caucus is at ColoradoDems.org/caucus/schedule.
Step 2: Run to be a Precinct Organizer
At caucus, you put your name forward. Democrats in your precinct vote to fill the role. You will give a short speech to let your neighbors know why they should vote for you.
Step 3: Get to Work in Your Neighborhood
After you are elected, you will receive information from your county party and from the state party and get to shape the future of the Democratic Party in Colorado.
