Colorado Democratic Party Chair Condemns Trump’s Demand for the Trial and Execution of Colorado Congressman Jason Crow

Following the President of the United States calling for the trial and execution of Democratic members of Congress, including Colorado Congressman Jason Crow, Colorado Democratic Party Chair Shad Murib issued the following statement:

“Donald Trump’s call for Democrats like Congressman Jason Crow to be put on trial and executed for telling military service members that they have the constitutional duty and right to refuse illegal orders is dangerous, unhinged and unworthy of the office of the President of the United States.

We commend Congressman Crow for continuing to show unimpeachable and honorable courage, integrity and leadership in the face of such radical behavior from the president. As a veteran and a public servant, he knows more than most the meaning of pledging an oath of duty to their country–certainly more than a five-time draft dodger that our president is. 

No President should ever incite violence against Americans, let alone against the very veterans who swore an oath to defend this nation.

Colorado Democrats stand firmly with Congressman Crow and every servicemember who upholds their duty to follow only lawful orders. Their loyalty is to the Constitution, not a president. In moments like these, moral clarity matters. Jason Crow is providing it, and we’re proud to stand with him.”
