DENVER – After launching the micro-site “Con or Marx-ism?” the Colorado Democratic Party is continuing to spotlight Republican nominee Victor Marx’s top Marx-isms – reminding voters just how unfit he is to lead Colorado due to his extreme views and reckless behavior.
Victor’s Marx-isms Day 14: “I feel like God gave me a gift for violence.”
Any closing message Marx wanted voters to know in the final Election Day sprint was rendered irrelevant in late September, when clips resurfaced of Marx laughing about past violent domestic incidents and angry outbursts. Marx even bragged about hitting a man who came to him for religious counseling:
“I thought to myself, a lot of things I'm not good at, but conflict. I'm very comfortable. I don't know. I feel like God gave me a gift for violence, against the manifestation of evil. Some of you are laughing because you're going, oh, bless God. How many times do you wish you could do that? So anyway, I jumped up and I went to fulfill his wishes of being hit.”
Despite widespread disgust aimed towards Marx after the report, he never apologized or admitted that his history of violence and “explosive anger” was disqualifying for Colorado’s top state office. In fact, he proactively confirmed the stories of violent altercations with his wife and toddler son in a radio interview, and in a later private campaign call bragged that “he’d do it again.”
