Weiser and Longshot Lopez Face Off at Club 20 – Marx Missing

MAGA Extremist Marx Missing Amid Multiple Campaign Maelstroms

DENVER – This Saturday in Grand Junction, Attorney General Phil Weiser and hardline conservative gubernatorial longshot Greg Lopez will meet for their second debate – while Republican nominee Victor Marx will miss another stop on the traditional campaign trail.  

Victor Marx has strangely refused to debate the full field, claiming he will only meet the Democratic nominee in an unserious, “unmoderated” debate, without any explanation. He also bypassed the August Colorado Springs debate, despite it being in his home city. 

MAGA extremist Marx has alienated voters left and right since before he scraped by in June’s primary. But just this week, new leaked audio circulated with Marx’s latest racist comments, saying he was a “reverse coconut” and more comfortable with people of color because of his father’s apparent criminal activity. 

Marx’s campaign finance scandal also spiraled further out of control, as he faced another media storm around his latest shady attempts to explain away his online merch store scheme. State officials have already called his hundreds of other campaign finance violations “unprecedented,” and demanded a record $51,000 fine in a state hearing Monday.

Conservative longshot Lopez is going west for his second and final matchup with Weiser, in a mad dash for relevance with barely six weeks to go until Election Day. Lopez has so far failed to gain traction or escape his hardline conservative record; he reported raising less than $18,000 in the July-August reporting period.

“AG Weiser is gearing up for debate round two because he’s ready to meet his opponents and voters where they are,” said Colorado Democratic Party spokesperson Kailee Stiles. “What’s Victor Marx afraid of – besides accountability?”
