DENVER — The Colorado Democratic Party congratulates U.S. Rep. Brittany Pettersen on her reelection in Colorado’s 7th Congressional District.
Pettersen has drawn on her family’s experience with addiction to fight for better access to treatment and mental health care. She has also brought the challenges facing parents into the national debate, pushing to allow new parents in Congress to vote by proxy after the birth of a child. Her work reflects a conviction that government should make it easier for families to get help and build stable lives.
“Congresswoman Pettersen has been willing to share some of the hardest experiences in her life so other families have a better chance of getting the help they need,” said Colorado Democratic Party Chair Shad Murib. “She has brought that same persistence to standing up for parents and challenging rules that make their lives harder. We’re proud to celebrate her reelection. Colorado families will continue to have an advocate who understands what they are going through and refuses to let them be overlooked.”
