DENVER — Colorado Democratic Party Chair Shad Murib issued the following statement congratulating the Democratic leaders chosen in this week’s Colorado House and Senate caucus elections:
“Colorado Democrats are in great hands with this new leadership team in the General Assembly. Senate President James Coleman, Senate Majority Leader Dylan Roberts, House Speaker Jennifer Bacon, and House Majority Leader Javier Mabrey are proven leaders who have delivered for working families in every corner of this state, from the Front Range to the Western Slope to the Eastern Plains.
They’re building on a strong foundation laid by the leaders who came before them, and I want to thank former Speaker Julie McCluskie, House Majority Leader and Senator-elect Monica Duran, and Senate Majority Leader Robert Rodriguez for their exemplary service to this state as they move on to their next steps.
This leadership team brings the experience, results, and trust of their colleagues to bolster our diverse coalition of Democrats. They are ready to guide their new and expanded supermajorities to achieve big things for Coloradans because they understand that winning elections is only the beginning. What matters most is that we deliver.”
