DENVER — The Colorado Democratic Party congratulates Phil Weiser and Lesley Dahlkemper on their election as Colorado’s next governor and lieutenant governor.
Weiser campaigned on making Colorado a place where young people can afford to stay, find good jobs and build their lives. He will bring his experience as attorney general defending Colorado’s rights and working across differences to solve problems. Dahlkemper brings years of local leadership as a Jefferson County commissioner and former school board president, including work on wildfire preparedness and public education.
“Governor-elect Weiser has spent this campaign showing up and listening to people who love Colorado and worry they can no longer afford a future here. He has made overcoming that challenge central to the work ahead and we stand ready to support his agenda of lowering costs and protecting our freedoms,” said Colorado Democratic Party Chair Shad Murib. “Lieutenant Governor-elect Dahlkemper knows how much families depend on strong schools and local services, and she understands the work it takes to deliver them. We’re proud to congratulate them both. Colorado has elected a team ready to defend our state and help more people build a life here.”
