DENVER — Colorado Democratic Party Chair Shad Murib released the following statement on the passage of Proposition 135:
“We’re disappointed that Proposition 135 will put new government restrictions on medical decisions that should be made by patients, their parents and qualified health professionals. This is an unwelcome intrusion of the government and politicians on people’s personal and medical needs.
“Families seeking care for their children deserve compassion and accurate information. They should not have to defend their child’s dignity in a political campaign. We thank everyone who spoke publicly about deeply personal experiences to help voters understand what was at stake. Colorado Democrats will continue supporting these families and working to protect access to appropriate care. Tonight’s result does not change our commitment to them.”
